Posted: 15th February 2024

In our vibrant school community, we draw inspiration from the exceptional talents of our students, who consistently excel in various endeavors. Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with the remarkable Sotonye Major-Jack, a brilliant young artist whose latest masterpiece, “The African Woman,” has captured the attention of our entire school.

Marketing Team: Could you describe the story and inspiration behind your artwork?

Sotonye Major-Jack: “It’s a style of painting called impressionism and I was inspired by Georges Pierre Seurat, the great French post-Impressionist artist. I prefer to paint in this style as it feels unique and inspiring to me.”

Marketing Team: The color palette in your painting is striking. How do you decide on the colors for your artwork?

Sotonye Major-Jack: “I strive to select colors that catch the eye and captivate me. To add depth to my work, I enjoy highlighting the colors by adding various elements such as beads.”

And with that, we conclude this week’s Student Highlight. Thank you for reading, and be sure to stay tuned for our next article!
