Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with the remarkable Sotonye Major-Jack, a brilliant young artist whose latest masterpiece, “The African Woman,” has captured the attention of our entire school.
Marketing Team: Could you describe the story and inspiration behind your artwork?
Sotonye Major-Jack: “It’s a style of painting called impressionism and I was inspired by Georges Pierre Seurat, the great French post-Impressionist artist. I prefer to paint in this style as it feels unique and inspiring to me.”
Marketing Team: The color palette in your painting is striking. How do you decide on the colors for your artwork?
Sotonye Major-Jack: “I strive to select colors that catch the eye and captivate me. To add depth to my work, I enjoy highlighting the colors by adding various elements such as beads.”
