During our recent special assembly at the Primary Campus earlier this year, the Grade 3 pupils gave a presentation on traditional New Year meals eaten in different countries around the world.
As part of the special assembly, the pupils dressed in attire representing the countries they were presenting. Each group introduced a traditional New Year meal and briefly explained its cultural significance. Through this activity, pupils explored how food forms part of New Year celebrations in various cultures.
The presentation provided an opportunity for pupils to practise speaking before an audience while developing their understanding of global traditions. It also helped them recognise how food can reflect identity and cultural heritage.
Special assemblies such as this create space for pupils to share their learning in a structured setting. The Grade 3 presentation highlighted thoughtful preparation and a clear effort to understand how different societies mark the beginning of a new year.
