At Greenoak International School’s (GIS) Primary Campus, students recently participated in a class activity focused on foods around the world. The objective was to familiarise pupils with the diverse culinary traditions found across the world.
During the session, the children had the opportunity to discuss various foods representative of different regions. As part of the exercise, they dressed in colourful native attires, each outfit reflecting a specific cultural heritage. This visual element complemented their discussions, offering a practical insight into the customs and traditions associated with these foods.
In addition to the presentation and discussion segments, the activity featured a dance presentation. The children performed an entertaining routine, adding a dynamic aspect to the learning experience and further showcasing the cultural practices they had studied.
This class activity provided a structured yet engaging way for students to explore and appreciate the diversity of global cultures.
Overall, the session was a modest but effective educational exercise, underscoring GIS’s commitment to fostering cultural awareness and understanding within the classroom.
