On the 2nd of May, 2026, students of GIS were officially presented with several awards in Germany following their participation in the Grand Finals of the Hi lingua competition and German Maths olympiad.
The event brought together students from 37 countries, creating a diverse global platform for academic and cultural exchange. GIS joined schools from around the world at the international competition, where students competed in several categories, including Mathematics Examinations, English Examinations, Essay Writing, Debate, Country Battle, and Real-Life Games.
Representing GIS were four outstanding students: Allen Fezi-Godspower, Goodness Nwani, David Onojoserio, and Stephanie Uzor. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated brilliance, confidence, teamwork, and resilience across a range of demanding activities and challenges.
Over the course of the event, the students earned 15 awards in multiple categories:
2 Bronze Awards in Mathematics for Allen Fezi-Godspower and David Onojoserio
4 Silver Awards in the English Examination category for all four GIS participants
2 Honourable Mentions in Mathematics for Stephanie Uzor and Goodness Nwani
2 Gold Awards in Essay Writing for Stephanie Uzor and Goodness Nwani
1 Bronze Award in Country Battle for Allen Fezi-Godspower
2 Bronze Awards in Debate for Stephanie Uzor and Goodness Nwani
2 Bronze Awards in the Real-Life Games category for Stephanie Uzor and Goodness Nwani
The various competition categories tested participants in areas such as analytical thinking, communication, attentiveness, teamwork, coherence, boldness, and speed.
