On 20 October 2025, the Primary Campus recognised the Diwali celebration, a major festival celebrated by the Indian community. As a multicultural school, Greenoak values the traditions represented among its families and makes deliberate efforts to acknowledge them.
To help pupils understand the significance of the festival, they were taught what Diwali represents and why it is celebrated. A highlight of the event was a traditional dance performance by our Indian pupils, giving their peers a glimpse of the Diwali celebration while allowing the performers to share their culture confidently.
Recognising culturally significant celebrations within the school environment nurtures empathy, social awareness, and mutual respect. These are qualities that shape how children relate to others both in school and beyond.
