GIS’s June Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

GIS sincerely appreciates our esteemed parents, guardians, and friends who have relentlessly supported the school’s vision and mission. To all of you, we say: Thank you.

We’d like to inform you of the noteworthy events that occurred in May and of the upcoming events for June 2017.

SECONDARY SCHOOL NEWS/EVENTS

-The Summer term officially kicked off on Tuesday, 2nd May 2017.

– The inauguration of prefects held on Monday, 8th May 2017 at the Secondary Campus auditorium.  Grade 11 Parents joined us.

-Grade 9 Careers Day took place on Tuesday, 9th May 2017

-WAEC exams officially came to an end on Wednesday, 10th May 2017.

-Community Service for our Grade 12 students started on Monday, 15th May 2017 at St. Francis Primary School, Rumuokuta and ended on Friday, 2nd June 2017.

-Open Day was on Thursday 25th May 2017

– The mid-term break began on Friday, 26th of May and classes resumed on 30th May 2017.

-NECO SSCE starts on Monday, 5th June 2017 for Grade 12 Students.

-The annual All School portrait will take place on 6th June – ALL STUDENTS must wear their BLAZERS.

-The end of year Promotion Exams begin on Monday, 19th June 2017.

-The Promotion Exams conclude on Thursday, 29th June 2017

-Grade 12 will celebrate their Prom on Friday, 30th June 2017.

GIS PRIMARY NEWS/EVENTS

-Icon Readers Club inauguration held on Thursday, 18th May 2017.

-Book fair was on Friday, 19th May 2017.

-Open Day took place on Thursday, 25th May 2017.

-Children’s day/half term break began on Friday, 26th May 2017.

-School resumed after the half-term break on Tuesday, 30th May 2017.

-Mufti- Day held on Thursday, 1st June 2017

-The annual All School portrait will take place on 7th June.

-The general annual class photo album will be on Monday, 12th June 2017 (your child/children should be dressed formally in their uniform).

-Summer term examination begins Monday, 19th June and ends on Wednesday, 28th June 2017.

GIS has lots of exciting events planned for the rest of the Term.  We look forward to sharing them with you.
